How fitting that Linda Huitchinson won tonight's par Competition for the "Tuesday Girls trophy" donated by Linda and Jessie 10 years ago.
the course was playing tough and Linda came close to beating the course tonight ending up 1-down. Jaci Moriarty who was actually 5-down at one stage finished strongly to get it back to 2-down for the runner-up spot and it wasn't quite 3-in-a-row for Vivien Mitchell who was third with a 3-down score but still managed to stay top of the League Table.

Two wins in three days made it a successful week for Vivien Mitchell who, having won the Thursday Stableford on Thursday with 34 points on the b.i.h. from Joan Gray, proceeded to with the Bronze Medal today with a 72 one stroke ahead of Rhona Archibald with Sheila Munro taking third place with 77. The win takes Vivien to the top of the League table.
Linda Bain won the Silver Medal with a 70 on the b-i-h from Mandy McBain with Eileen Gillespie taking third spot.

Joan Gray, Rab Kay, Graham Hill and Tam Galloway took the Rab Binnie Trophy today with a Texas Scramble score of 54.4.
A big lead from the second place team (Veronica Gordon, Mick Downie, Alan Miller & Tam Bell) who came in with 57.8 only 0.2 ahead of the third place team of Mandy McBain, and Harry Bell who was looking forward to it so much he had his name down for two teams (there's only two Harry Bells was the chant)
Lochenders in the prizes at Midlothian Summer Meeting
Lochend ladies fared well at the Midlothian Spring Meeting over Glencorse, none better than Sandra Craig who took the Bronze scratch prize (taking the CM Park Rosebowl) with a scratch score of 90. Sandra also qualifies for the Bronze Championship in May.
Linda Bain took the second scratch prize with 80 and Mandy McBain took the second silver handicap with 71. Great to see the Lochend flag flying high, well done all!

Lochend Pair triumph in the Gibson Cup
Well done Diane Moncrieff and Eileen Gillespie who won the Gibson Cup consolation plate over a wild and windy Braid Hills. This is the second time Diane Moncrieff has taken a prize in this prestigious competition, having won the second string matchplay in 2008 with Suzanne Ireland.
Fiona Findlay wins the Stableford Trophy
No sooner has Fiona Findlay handed over the captaincy than she duly got into the winning ways with an excellent 42 stableford points to take the 2012 Stableford Trophy. Not only winning the Stableford but cutting her handicap by almost 2 strokes and jumping 10 places in the League see what happens when your no longer captain.
Coleen Derighetti was second with 37 points and Jaci Moriarty was third with 34.

Merry Christmas from Pat and Joan
Pat Meikle and Joan Gray won the rescheduled Christmas Greensomes today in glorious spring-like conditions.
Pat and Joan took the honours with a 71.2. closely followed by runners-up Mandy McBain and Diane Moncrieff (72.2) who just pipped Fiona Findlay and Diane Crolla who were 3rd with 73.
A lovely spring-like day today and Lady Champion Diane Moncrieff continues her great start to the year, making it two out of two in the Silver division with a 72 winning on the better inward half from Pat Meikle. Captain Fiona Findlay was third with 75.
Nicola Moriarty took the Bronze and also cut her handicap with a 71, Carole owens was runner-up with 73 and Lorna Mackay took 3rd on the better inward half from Eunice Reid who also scored 74.

Latest 2012 League Table top 10
Jaci Moriarty and Coleen Derighetti coped best with the tough conditions today to win the Daily Mail Foursomes with a 73 to represent Lochend in the national matchplay knockout.
They have since won their first round of the Knockout, winning away at Ratho Park 5 & 4 over Caroline Mansley and Angela Hughes.
The first of 7 rounds it would take to get to the last 16 finals weekend.
Lady Champion Diane Moncrieff and new member Rhona Archibald (pictured on the right with returning member Eileen Stevenson) won the first Medals of the season today. Diane taking the Silver medal with a 78 with Eileen Gillespie 2nd on 80 and Pat Meikle 3rd with 82. In the Bronze section Rhona Archibald announced her arrival with a 4-shot win (75). Eunice Reid was 2nd on the BIH from Joan Gray.

Having won the final medal of 2011 Jaci Moriarty started 2012 by winning the New Year's day competition by one stroke from Pat Meikle.
