Ladies Competitions 2018

10th November Officially the final competition of the ladies season, the Winter Trophy was won today by Kelly McShannon with a score of 67 closely followed by Diane Moncrieff who can take consolation that her card of 68 contained 3 birdies and enable her to share the scratch birdie tree competition with Mandy McBain and today's round also meant Diane just pipped Fiona Findlay to the eclectic trophy by a fraction of a shot. Jennifer Somerville was third place on the better-inward-half from Mandy McBain both scoring 72.

Well done to the six hardy souls who braved the horrendous non-stop downpour to play for the Grace Robinson trophy. Jaci Moriarty won the trophy with a 76 one stroke ahead of Viv Mitchell, runner-up on the better-inward-half. Jaci first won the Grace Robinson 20 years ago and last won it 10 years ago. The win all but secures the league for Jaci, one point will clinch it with two rounds remaining. CSS=72 (RO)

30th September No less than 48 players took part in the Mixed Triam today and it was the team of Viv Mitchell, Alex D. Ferguson and Sinclair MacDonald scoring 79 stableford points in a format in which the team's best score at holes 1-6, two best scores at holes 7-12 and all scores at holes 13-18 all count.
Three teams followed with scores of 76 with the team of Coleen Derighetti, Scott Robertson Snr and Brian Young took the runner-up spot only on the last 6-hole countback from Jaci Moriarty, David Wright and Ross Fenwich who in turn had the b-i-h over Mary Law, Pat McCafferty and Jim McArthur.

Nicola McShannon won the Rebecca Ellis Ford trophy tonight in the final Tuesday evening competition of the season. This was a 9-hole flag competition where the objective is to take the flag the furthest with half your handicap. Nicola got as far as two shots up the 10th, think Mary Law would have been second as she had one stroke left to hit up the 10th.

21st July The course wasn't the only thing burning up today. Linda Hutchinson won the Lady Captain's Trophy today (and a bag of goodies supplied by Captain Myra) with a brilliant score of 61, six shots ahead of runner-up Pat Meikle (67). Then three players carded 68 with Lorna Lynch taking third place on the better-inward-half from Diane Crolla and Myra Law.
There was also a fun game of Bingo, Bango, Bongo where you get points at each hole for being first to hit the green, nearest the pin when all three players are on and first to get in the hole. Sounds made but it's great fun. Well done Diane Moncrieff who won with 24 points, runner-up was Violet Paterson (22 points) followed closely by Viv Mitchell. And many thanks to Myra for supplying the prizes.
